General Terms and Conditions of Sale

These general terms and conditions of sale (GTC) are concluded:
– on the one hand, any individual acting as an author and publishing his works under the publishing house name “OLDON PUBLISING”, hereinafter referred to as the “Author”;
– and on the other hand, by any natural person acting as a consumer or any legal or natural person acting for professional purposes, hereinafter referred to as the “Client.”
1. Purpose
These GTC govern the distance sale and pre-order of printed books (paperback, hardcover, or special editions in physical format) via the Author’s website, in accordance with Articles 45 and following of the Codice del Consumo.
The books offered are tangible goods, and sales are considered royalty income (diritti d’autore).
For pre-orders, delivery will take place on the official publication date announced on the website.
2. Pre-contractual Information
Before concluding the contract or pre-order, the Client receives the information provided under Article 49 of the Codice del Consumo, including:
- full identity of the Author (natural person);
- essential characteristics of the book (title, author, ISBN, format, number of pages, language, publishing house name);
- total price due;
- delivery costs;
- payment and delivery methods;
- existence of the right of withdrawal.
Validation of the order or pre-order implies the obligation to pay.
3. Price – Applicable Tax Regime
Prices are expressed in euros.
Sales and pre-orders are treated as royalties. Consequently:
- VAT is not applicable;
- no issued document constitutes a standard commercial invoice;
- the Author may provide the Client with a simple receipt indicating the amount paid, the book title, and the payment date.
Delivery charges are indicated separately before final confirmation.
4. Availability
Books are offered while stocks last.
In case of unavailability after an order or pre-order, the Client will be informed as soon as possible and may obtain a full refund.
5. Conclusion of the Contract
The contract is concluded upon the Client receiving a confirmation email of the order or pre-order.
The Author reserves the right to refuse an order or pre-order for legitimate reasons (unavailability, obvious error, suspicion of fraud).
6. Delivery
Books are delivered to the address provided during the order or pre-order.
Delivery times are indicative, unless expressly stated otherwise.
In accordance with Article 63 of the Codice del Consumo, the risk of loss or damage transfers to the consumer only when they physically take possession of the book.
For pre-orders, delivery will occur on the official publication date announced on the website. Therefore, no clause regarding late delivery applies.
7. Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with Articles 52 and following of the Codice del Consumo, the consumer has a period of fourteen (14) calendar days from receipt of the book to exercise their right of withdrawal without justification.
The Client notifies their decision via a clear statement (email, PEC, or mail).
Conditions:
- the book must be returned in perfect condition, undamaged;
- direct return costs are borne by the Client.
Refunds are processed within 14 days from receipt of the returned item or proof of shipment.
8. Legal Warranty of Conformity
Books benefit from the legal warranty of conformity provided under Articles 128 and following of the Codice del Consumo, valid for 24 months from delivery.
Covered defects include, in particular:
- significant printing defects;
- missing pages;
- binding defects.
In case of non-conformity, the consumer is entitled to repair (replacement with a conforming copy) or, failing that, a price reduction or contract termination under legal conditions.
For professional clients, Articles 1490 and following of the Codice Civile apply.
9. Liability
The Author is responsible for the proper execution of the contract in accordance with the Codice del Consumo.
They cannot be held liable in case of force majeure, carrier strikes, or actions attributable to the Client.
10. Intellectual Property
The books sold are protected by copyright.
Any unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or use of the content is strictly prohibited and may incur civil and criminal liability.
11. Personal Data
Personal data are processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable Italian law.
The Client has the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability.

12. Dispute Resolution
In case of a dispute concerning the interpretation, execution, or validity of these GTC or an order/pre-order, the Client agrees to contact the Author first to seek an amicable solution.
Any claim must be submitted in writing to the contact details indicated in these GTC, specifying the order references and subject of the dispute.
The Author will examine the request diligently to achieve an amicable resolution within a reasonable time.
This attempt at amicable resolution is without prejudice to the respective rights of the parties and does not constitute a waiver or limitation of the Author’s legal rights.
Failing an amicable agreement, for consumers, the competent court is that of the consumer’s residence or domicile in accordance with the Codice del Consumo. For professional clients, exclusive jurisdiction is attributed to the court of Piacenza.
